The rehearsals are over, the artwork hung and the tickets on sale. Yup Refugee Week Scotland is here.
I’ll mainly be at the festival lounge in the Vic Bar, Tron Theatre between 12.30 & 2.30. There are different events on every lunchtime so please pop along.
I do have a wee roll call of fab folk who have their time, skills and products for free:
Centre for Advanced Textiles – for their time, expertise and allowing us to digitally print Iman’s images onto fabric for the banners and cushion.
Gold Thimble – for fabric for our banners and letting Paria use their sewing machine.
Rags To Riches in collaboration with Govanhill Baths Trust – for gifting us fabric for the banners and cushion. They’ll also be doing a workshop at the festival lounge.
Refugee Survival Trust – for allowing us to screen Making It Home every day.
Iman Tajik – for allowing us to use his beautiful, powerful images. Check out his exhibition at Clydebank College this week.
Timorous Beasties – for the stunning hand screenprinted fabric which is now a huge floor cushion.
Big hugs and thanks have to go to Cat & Paria whom I’ve been collaborating closely with on this project along with the staff of stage Tron Theatre. It’s been fab working with them.
All that’s left is to say is there are so many events from music and dance to drama and films to football and food. Grab a brochure and please come along to at least one of the events.
